Rotary Drum type carbonization furnace is an ideal equipment to destructively distill, anaerobic carbonization the sawdust, rice husk, peanut shell, olive kernels, straws, tree barks and carbonaceous biomass materials (diameter<30mm) in high temperature.
This furnace adopts the advanced technology of recycling combustible gas, purify, cyclic combustion. The gas(CO,CH4,O2 etc) generated from the carbonizing process can be reused. This carbonizing technology design solves the smoke pollution problem and the heat energy problem.
Main Components of the rotary drum type furnace:
1.Screw conveyor/belt conveyor for feeding raw materials
The function of the screw conveyor is to transport the raw material into carbonization chamber for carbonizing. The diameter size of raw material should be less than 30mm, so that carbonization is sufficient. In the process of feeding raw material, we need constant observation and screening to avoid some hard materials containing iron entering the conveyor, resulting in damage to the screw conveyor.
The carbonization chamber is the main part for the rotary drum type carbonization furnace. For this part, it uses the speed regulating motor and two supporting rollers to rotate the furnace body. At the bottom of the furnace body, there will be a combustion chamber for heating. By heating and rotating, the raw materials will be carbonized by dry distillation without oxygen in the carbonization furnace. The rotation can be adjusted, which is to make the materials more uniform and fully carbonized.
3.Purification and smoke removal system
For this part, there are two tanks. In the first two tanks, there is a sprinkler system. The main function of it is to cool and precipitate the newly generated flue gas, and then the cooled flue gas is treated by the latter two purification tanks. The wood tar and wood acetic acid which we do not need are separated to obtain a pure flammable gas. The fifth tank is the gas storage tank, which stores the pure gas to provide the combustion heat source for the carbonization furnace.
After carbonized, the materials can not be directly packed into bags due to the higher temperature. Thus, the discharge conveyors we used is equipped with circulating water cooling system. In order to completely cool the material, we will do the longer conveyor for customers, so that can extend the cooling time. After conveyor, the temperature of material will be at about 50 degree, and then spray to ensure the material is completely cooled down.
This continuous furnace uses the destructive distillation method, take full advantage of CO,CH4,H2 etc combustible gas which are produced by carbonizing process. Through the flue gas purification system, the wood tar acid solution was separated and the pure combustible gas was obtained, and then through the self-distribution air burner full combustion, to heat the high temperature carbonization pipes(the temperature controlled at 600℃）.
At the beginning, the fuels are needed to heat the rotary drum. When temperature reaches to 300℃, feed conveyor start to feed raw materials into the carbonization furnace. The raw materials will generate plenty of combustible gas during the pyrolysis of the carbonization process, the syngas will become pure combustible gas after wood tar, wood vinegar other impurities are isolated by the filter and purification system. The pure gas will be collected and used for heating the furnace. The temperature of furnace will control at 600 degrees Celsius. When the furnace can produce enough flue gas and reach to self-sufficient combustion, close the external fuel and open all the flue gas valve of the furnace gradually, finally achieve flammable gas self-sufficiency carbonization.
